In so-called post-editing, a text which has undergone machine translation, i.e. which has been created without the intervention of a human translator, is corrected in full by a qualified translator.

Some organisations use machine translation when large volumes of text have to be translated within a short period. Even using modern, professional systems the result of such a process is not of publishable quality, but it is nevertheless understandable. Especially with regard to the processing time required, in some circumstances it can therefore be worth processing a text in this way, and then having it modified by a qualified translator.

I do not use machine translation myself, but as part of my correction and proofreading services, I offer the adaptation of machine translations.
